Work With Us
Instrument Maker (Part-Time) in Spanish Fork, Utah
I'm hiring someone to help me build musical instruments.
I run a small company called Groberg Musical Instruments. I've designed and created the MK1, a premium handcrafted MIDI keyboard for music composers and professionals.
What this actually is:
- Part-time work (roughly 15-20 hours/week to start, weekdays during normal business hours)
- $18-25/hour depending on what you bring
- In person, in Spanish Fork
- Trial period of 1-2 months (paid) so we can both see if this is a fit. If it's working, it becomes ongoing.
What you'd actually do:
Learn the build process and help make keyboards. Woodworking, finishing, assembly, taking pride in building a handmade musical instrument. Also whatever needs doing: cleaning, shop organization, packing shipments, improving processes. This is a small company. Roles are loose.
Who I'm hoping to find:
Someone who is a maker. Curious. Willing to learn. Creative. Someone who takes pride in doing something well, not fast. I'd rather train the right person from scratch than hire a resume full of experience that doesn't quite match. If you've built anything you're proud of (furniture, a bike, a garden, a small business, a treehouse), I want to hear about it. Music experience is a plus but not required.
Location:
This is in person, in a small industrial workshop and office space in Spanish Fork.
To apply:
Send a short email to contact@grobergmusic.com with "Maker" in the subject line, telling me:
- Something you've made or built that you're proud of, anything, from any part of your life. What it was, why it matters to you. Include more than one thing if you want.
- What you like to do when you're not working.
- Why this posting caught your attention.
- A short resume (no more than 1 page).
